Job overview

To provide the hospital site (Leicester Royal/Leicester General/Glenfield) with portering, housekeeping and domestic services as required ensuring patients are moved in a timely manner. This job purpose covers a 7 day week, 24 hours , including weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job
  • Ensuring the timely transfer of patients from the Emergency Department/Assessment Units to the base wards or discharge lounge to expedite the patient flow across the hospital site
  • Help with the cleaning of patient areas in order that delays are not incurred with the transferring/admitting of patient

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust:

  • To work as part of the Site Manager’s Team
  • Cleaning of bed space area when a patient has been transferred/discharged
  • Bed making
  • Assisting with keeping the ward area clean
