The Opportunity

A Management Accountant opportunity with much to offer under the bonnet of the job description, an environment that’s fast paced, collaborative and will challenge your thinking every day.

This is an additional role due to growth, working alongside 2 other Management Accountants, overseeing Accounts Payable / Admin functions reporting to the Head of Finance.

The company operates a complex group with multiple small but intricate entities, including three Middle East companies, two partly owned entities, and four UK companies, consolidated into group accounts.

The role involves working with nine management accounts sets that require variance analysis and understanding of complex intercompany transactions.

Many accounting processes remain manual or semi-manual, using Sage Line 50 and Excel for data exports and pivots, demanding strong hands-on accounting knowledge rather than reliance on automated software.

There is a particular focus on cash transaction reconciliation as well as Management Accounts Production adding operational complexity to the accounting function.

Overseeing AP and an Admin Assistant

Prepare commentary on the financial performance for inclusion in the month end board packs

Reconciliation of inter-company balances

Preparation of VAT returns

Involvement in the preparation of annual budgets

Checking of supplier payment run

The Candidate

The ideal candidate should have experience handling multiple entities and inter company transactions. A practice or business outsourcing background would be advantageous.

You’ll be a self-starter with strong core accounting skills, good Excel abilities, and confidence to proactively gather information from other departments.

A candidate pursuing further qualifications is less desirable due to the lack of scope for progression, with preference for someone settled and content in their career level, however there is much scope to gain greater breadth and depth as the role develops.

The role offers variety through involvement in diverse projects across the UK and beyond and will appeal to candidates seeking a challenging and interesting role.

Personality fit and attitude over just technical skills is of high importance, highlighting that the right mindset is crucial for success in this complex role.

You'll be system savvy especially with Excel due to the extensive spreadsheet work involved in the reconciliations, reporting and analysis.
