Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer

The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food production facility in West Wales seeking a capable and practical Project Engineer to support the delivery of site-based capital investment projects. This is a hands-on role where you will take responsibility for supervising installation activities, coordinating contractors, and ensuring engineering works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with food industry standards.

What Youll Be Doing You will play a key role in managing engineering tasks during project execution phases, ensuring everything from installation through to commissioning is controlled, documented and signed off correctly. Duties will include:
Managing day-to-day site activities relating to capital projects Supervising third-party contractors and internal teams Reviewing and approving contractor risk assessment and method statements prior to commencement Coordinating works around production schedules and planned shutdowns Ensuring all technical validations and change controls are completed Carrying out risk assessments where required Ensuring compliance with food safety and site Health & Safety standards Collecting verification data and completing formal handovers Youll be the person ensuring projects are delivered safely, to specification and without disruption to production operations.

About You We are looking for someone who understands the pace and compliance demands of a regulated food manufacturing environment. You will ideally have: ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering A completed apprenticeship within an industrial setting At least 5 years experience within the food industry manufacturing Strong working knowledge of Permit to Work systems and contractor management Experience supporting capital equipment installation and commissioning This role could suit individuals currently working as:
