With a strong UK‑wide presence, Tetra Tech delivers innovative mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Defence. The Leicester office plays a key role in delivering technically challenging and sustainable projects across the region.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of building services projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high‑quality mechanical engineering solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing mechanical systems (HVAC, public health, etc.) from concept to completion
• Producing detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
• Supporting senior engineers with site surveys, inspections, and construction stage duties
• Coordinating with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines
• Ensuring compliance with current building regulations and sustainability standards
• Participating in project meetings and contributing to technical discussions
• Developing your technical skills with guidance from experienced engineers

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
• Have experience working on mechanical building services projects within a consultancy or contractor environment
• Be familiar with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES, and NBS
• Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
• Maintain a proactive and solution‑focused mindset
• Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred)
