This is a rare opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to work on highly bespoke machinery for a very stable OEM in the industry.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical installation, servicing, and maintenance of complex industrial plants across customer sites throughout the UK. The position is split between long‑term installations and nationwide service work and will involve regular staying away from home.
Key responsibilities include:
- Mechanical installation and assembly of large‑scale plant machinery using engineering drawings and specifications.
- Fault rectification, snagging, and commissioning support during installation phases.
- Servicing, breakdown response, warranty work, and preventative maintenance across UK customer sites.
- Mechanical fault finding on gearboxes, bearings, belts, pneumatics, air systems, and rotating equipment.
- Welding, fabrication, retrofitting, and project‑based upgrade work (including occasional weekend work).
This Field Service Engineer position offers variety, autonomy, and exposure to large, capital‑intensive equipment.
What they’re looking for- Strong mechanical background with experience in medium to heavy industry environments.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and method statements.
- Confidence with mechanical assembly, fault rectification, and general fabrication work.
- A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc.).
- A flexible attitude to travel and staying away.
