Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £59,306.05 + per annum
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (42 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a large, modern, highly automated manufacturing site undergoing continued investment and growth. You will work within a structured engineering function where development is actively encouraged including clear examples of engineers progressing into senior leadership roles.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment availability and performance.

• Work safely at all times, following isolation procedures and site safety standards.

• Support continuous improvement using structured problem-solving tools (PDCA, RCA).

• Provide feedback to planners and engineering leadership to improve schedules, spares, and maintenance strategies.

• Complete pre- and post-maintenance quality checks.

• Manage lubrication activities including mapping, execution, and simplification.

• Train and support autonomous maintenance teams on Clean Inspect Lubricate routines and fault diagnosis.

• Lead or contribute to root cause analysis investigations.

• Promote and maintain strong 5S standards across the plant.

You will work on a wide range of modern, automated machinery including:

• Conveyors and material handling systems

• Automated processing and packaging equipment

• Drives, motors, and control systems

Typical fault exposure includes:

• Electrical fault-finding

• Motors, drives, and inverters

• Sensors, relays, and control circuits

• Bearings, belts, chains, and gearboxes

• Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (approx. 60/40 electrical/mechanical or vice versa)

• Electrical qualification essential

• NVQ Level 3 or time-served apprenticeship (degree-only profiles not considered)

• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment

• Strong fault-finding mindset and willingness to learn

• Motivated, team-focused, and curious to continuously develop

Desirable (not essential):

• 18th Edition

• Apprentice trained background

• Salary circa £55,000 (flat rate)
