Controls Engineer

A precision engineering group which is currently investing in large scale plant improvements and implementing the latest manufacturing technologies has a newly opened position for a Control Systems Engineer. Working as part of the group improvement team, you will integrate new technologies and upgrade legacy control systems. Candidates are sought with a keen interest in new technologies and a good level of programming languages such as Python.

• Improve and optimize equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency.
• Improve processes, programs & procedures.
• Develop a self‑sustainable trouble‑shooting support system for various machine control systems.
• Review the programming and modifications when needed for existing control systems.
• Assist in upgrading legacy control systems as and when required.
• Develop new strategies to monitor machines digitally and optimize their performance.
• Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
• Provide technical expertise to plant personnel, including the maintenance team.
• Troubleshoot failures, direct repairs, and evaluate equipment.

• Electrical Engineering Degree with hands‑on experience of Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley PLCs. Knowledge of Mitsubishi PLCs is an advantage.
• Design and implementation of PLC control systems for manual and automated machines.
• Ability to develop PLC programs using structured programming practices in Ladder Logic and SCL, including motion control applications.
• Experience in integrating industrial robots with CNC machines or standalone manufacturing equipment (preferable, not essential).
• Good organizational and communication skills and a proven ability to facilitate and deliver improvement.
• Good level of programming languages such as Python.
