Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Support Technician
Salary: starting £28,900 and rising to £30,400 when role triggers are met + 20% shift allowance

Career Development: You’ll have a structured development plan with regular pay increases as you complete training and build new skills. Your progression is performance-driven, and within 2–3 years you could advance to the next grade, starting at £35,200 and rising to £39,000.

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

Contracts: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term (20 months)
Hours: Please make sure you can commit to the working hours before applying:

  • Shift: Mon–Wed: 16:30–02:30, Thu: 16:30–02:00
What You Will Do

As Manufacturing Engineering Support Technician, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving manufacturing best practices into the production environment.
  • Complete root cause analysis for quality & inefficiency improvements to implement robust process containment measures.
  • Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions work with functional teams, using a range of tool e.g. process flows, PFMEA’s, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.
  • CAD software utilisation;
    Design of jigs, fixtures, updating floor plans and completing virtual builds.
  • Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices.
  • Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action:
    Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, & Sustainability.

What You May Have
  • Good understanding of building and construction equipment Assembly, Test or Finish processes and production
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety Awareness and Controls Safety.
  • Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter would be advantageous.
  • Experience of quality concern resolution with tools such as 8D, 5why, fishbone diagrams and other appropriate quality tools.
