CAD Designer
Permanent | £35,000 – £45,000
Location:
Wykin, Leicestershire
(Easily commutable from Nuneaton, Coventry, Leicester, Market Bosworth, and surrounding areas)
Are you a detail-driven CAD Designer with hands-on experience designing sheet metal products for manufacture?
Do you enjoy seeing your designs move from screen to shop floor?
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced CAD Designer to join a fast-moving engineering team within a manufacturing environment. Accuracy is critical as your drawings and data directly impact production, cost, and quality. This is a hands-on role where your work will be visible, valued, and used every day.
About the Company
Our client is an innovative engineering business operating in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing setting. They are continuing to grow their engineering capability and are building a strong, collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
* Create accurate 3D models and 2D drawings using Solid Works
* Design sheet metal parts, machined components, and cable/electrical assemblies
* Manage engineering changes and ECR documentation
* Maintain configuration control of 3D models and ERP data
* Support cost-reduction initiatives and product range expansion
* Work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and operations
Experience & Skills Required
* Proven experience in sheet metal design within a manufacturing environment
* Strong Solid Works capability (3D modelling & 2D drawings)
* Clear understanding of how design decisions affect manufacturing, cost, and quality
* Competent with Excel
* Experience using Epicor ERP or similar systems is desirable
* Agile, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
