An enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science is required to join a successful secondary school environment. The role is suited to an inspiring classroom practitioner who is passionate about Science education and committed to helping students achieve their full academic potential.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking and a strong understanding of scientific concepts. They will play a key role in supporting high standards of teaching and learning while contributing to the wider life of the school community.
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and motivate students across the relevant key stages.
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements and departmental expectations.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support improvement and achievement.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom practice, maintaining high expectations of behaviour and academic performance.
- Inspire students to develop an interest in Science and encourage progression in the subject.
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and collaborative teaching practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student attainment and provide appropriate feedback to support learning.
- Participate in departmental meetings and wider school initiatives as required.
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as directed by senior leadership.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and student welfare.
