Overview
We are looking to appoint an inspirational teacher to join us at our College. This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position for 1 year and due to commence August 2026. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher to join our team. You will play a key role in delivering a differentiated and engaging curriculum, supporting students' academic and personal development, and contributing to the wider life of the college.
Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality teaching and learning experiences across a range of age groups and needs.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
- Lead by example in behaviour management and professional standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum continuity and innovation.
- Create a communication‑friendly classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Use ICT effectively to enhance learning.
- Participate in community events, parent/carer evenings, and liaise with external agencies.

We have now settled into our Knighton Fields Centre and our Post‑16 provision plans are in place for a new site. These additional sites provide bespoke educational opportunities for our Post‑16 students and our students with the most complex needs, in particular those with communication and interaction difficulties including complex autism.

Qualifications- Holds Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree.
- Has experience across Post‑16, Secondary, Primary or EYFS settings.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Has a strong understanding of inclusive education and SEN.
- Is resilient, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with children.
- Is willing to undertake ongoing professional development, including Team Teach and First Aid training.
- Evidence of being an excellent classroom teacher (essential)
- Ambition to teach special education to the highest level (essential)
- Experience working with pupils with Communication & Interaction Difficulties.
- A qualification in Special Educational Needs.
- Experience in line management.
- A sense of humour and a positive, problem‑solving attitude.
- Experience of teaching at a special school setting (desirable)
