35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Purpose of the Role

The Student Support & Experience Coordinator plays a pivotal role in shaping, coordinating, and enhancing the overall student experience s role ensures that every learner receives proactive, high-quality support and that their journey through the College, from enrolment to progression is engaging, inclusive, and well-managed.

Working under the direction of the Head of College, the postholder will coordinate the operational delivery of student attendance, communication, enrichment, student recruitment and welfare activities, ensuring consistency and quality across the student journey. The role requires a proactive, purpose-driven individual with strong initiative and excellent communication skills.

This is a developmental role, designed to evolve as the College continues to grow and improve. The scope and responsibilities of the position may expand over time to reflect the changing needs of the College, the development of new programmes, and the postholder’s own professional growth.

Key Responsibilities Student Support & Administration
  • Maintain accurate and timely student registers and attendance data across all courses.
  • Monitor attendance and punctuality daily, initiating follow-up communication with students and parents/carers and escalating persistent issues to the Head of College.
  • Coordinate parental communication regarding attendance, conduct, and welfare, ensuring consistency and professionalism. This will include emails and telephone calls.
  • Coordinate student bursaries in collaboration with the partner college, ensuring all documentation and processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate and facilitate student recruitment, student interviews/auditions, enrolment, registration, and induction
    , ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and well‑organised experience for all learners.
  • Maintain accurate student data in college systems and assist with reporting and audit requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate enrichment activities including workshops, masterclasses, school trips, and off‑timetable events that enhance learning and personal development.
  • Support the planning and delivery of college showcases, open evenings, and taster sessions
    , liaising with the curriculum and marketing team.
  • Support the Student Forum in the planning and delivery of student‑led initiatives.
  • Coordinate work experience, finding student placements, mentoring opportunities and career development activities
    , liaising with industry and community partners.
  • Support UCAS applications and other progression pathways, working with tutors and external agencies where relevant.
  • Develop and promote student events that celebrate creativity, diversity, and achievement across the College.
  • Coordinate masterclasses including communications and organisation.
  • Tracking of student progression following completion of their programmes and working with Sound Skool’s alumni network
Teaching & Personal Development
  • Deliver PSHE, British Values, and personal development sessions as part of the college timetable.
  • Deliver assigned lessons and provide additional teaching support within the RSL curriculum as allocated.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of the personal development curriculum
    , ensuring relevance, inclusivity, and alignment with Sound Skool’s ethos.
  • Maintain regular and transparent communication with the Head of College
    , ensuring alignment on attendance, welfare, and student experience priorities.
  • Liaise with tutors, safeguarding staff, and external agencies to coordinate effective student support.
  • Maintain proactive and professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to college‑wide initiatives, events, and projects that enhance the Sound Skool experience and culture.
External Events and Advocacy
  • Represent Sound Skool externally at events, exhibitions, or industry‑related engagements as agreed with the Head of College.
