Based in Leicester
Competitive daily rate: £150.00 - £235 per day
Full-time Position
We are seeking a dedicated, creative, and passionate Performing Arts (Drama) Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students through Drama and the wider Performing Arts curriculum, fostering confidence, creativity, and self-expression in a supportive learning environment.

As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable). You will contribute to both the academic and extracurricular life of the school, including productions, performances, and enrichment activities.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Drama and Performing Arts lessons in line with the national curriculum
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all students can thrive
Use a range of practical, theoretical, and performance-based teaching strategies to engage learners
Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations (where applicable)
Support and lead school productions, showcases, and extracurricular drama activities
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Arts faculty and across the wider school
Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress and development
Participate in departmental meetings, whole-school initiatives, and ongoing professional development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

A Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
Strong subject knowledge across practical and theoretical Drama
A passion for Performing Arts and the ability to inspire creativity and confidence in students
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
The flexibility, resilience, and enthusiasm to work with diverse learners
Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (preferred)
