Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (term time only)

About the Role

Long Term Futures is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a small specialist SEMH school in the LE8 area. The school supports pupils who have found mainstream education challenging and provides a highly structured, nurturing setting with very small classes and high levels of staff support.

Pupils access a blended curriculum that includes academic learning, outdoor activities and therapeutic or wellbeing-focused sessions. The approach is calm, consistent and centred around strong relationships, clear routines and personalised support.

What You'll Be Doing

Deliver 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Support emotional regulation, routines and positive behaviour strategies
Assist learning across classroom, outdoor and practical activities
Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils
Follow individual support plans and contribute to progress tracking
Encourage confidence, resilience, independence and engagement

What We're Looking For

Experience supporting children or young people (education, care, youth work, mentoring, coaching or similar)
Confidence managing behaviour in a calm, supportive and consistent way
Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
Applicants from sports coaching or mentoring backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply
