Role Overview

The School of Computer Science and Informatics is seeking a Professor of Cyber Security for the Digital Future Research Institute. The newly appointed professor will lead a dynamic, well-established research group with strong industry connections, ensuring cyber security research forms productive synergies with the Institute’s other research areas, other DMU research and external stakeholders. The role involves leading novel collaborations, developing research projects and income streams, mentoring junior and mid-career colleagues and students, and contributing to leadership and strategy development in the School, the Research Institute and the Faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a research group and ensure productive collaborations within and beyond the Institute.
  • Develop and secure income streams through research projects.
  • Mentor junior and mid-career colleagues and students.
  • Contribute to leadership and strategy development in the School, the Research Institute, and the Faculty.
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong leadership skills and initiative.
  • Proven experience in building and exploiting links with stakeholders (industry, government, academia).
  • Strong track record in income generation and academic publications or comparable industry-based research.

Interviews will be held on 01st April 2026.
