Locum Trust Grade Doctor - ST3/4 Equivalent
This role is for 4 months - 1 April to August 2026.
40 hours per week and 1 in 8 on call (will consider slightly less than full time).
This is a bespoke post created at ST3/4 level withing Palliative Medicine to work within a 31 bed Hospice Ward setting. This would be ideal for Trainees who wish to develop IM3 competences and apply for training in a specialist programme in the future. Training will be provided to help you develop your skills. It would also be suitable experience for colleagues considering some time out or programme training in a related speciality such as geriatrics or oncology.
Mainduties of the job
The main duties and responsibilities of this post are:
- * Participating in the face to face assessment and management of hospice inpatients, reviewingnew admissions and those with more complex issues on a day to day basis
- * Providing clinical supervision and coordination of clinical work for core trainees on the hospice ward
- * Working closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary hospice team, providingholistic care for patients
- * Having the opportunity to see other aspects of hospice care including outpatients, daytherapy and community palliative care
- * Ensuring asafe and high standard of care for all patients

Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We deliver free, high-quality,compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their family andcarers.
The main duties and responsibilities of this post are:

- * Ensuring asafe and high standard of care for all patients
- Able to contribute to LOROS Values & Behaviours
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Evidence of team working
- Available to work on-call based on a non residential rota and able to reach the Hospice within thirty minutes
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team
- At least four years' experience post-graduation
- Experience of electronic patient records
- Working ST3 level
- Evidence of excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Good clinical care
- Experience in palliative care.
- Understanding of palliative care approach holistic care, symptom control
- Fully registered with the GMC and licenced to practice
- Primary Medical Degree
- MRCP part one and two or equivalent
- MRCP PACES
