About The Role
We are looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor with team leading skills and dedicated to providing an excellent service to join our growing and successful Project team.
We are seeking applications from experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors who have a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related field, and ideally, a Chartered member of the RICS, or a commitment to achieve Chartered status within 2 years.

You will be responsible for- Taking the lead on a range of construction projects and supervising the work of the Quantity Surveyors, Assistants and Trainees in your team and helping them to fulfil their potential.
- Acting as the principal point of contact with the project client and the other consultants on the design team.
- Acting as a line manager for your team, taking responsibility of HR requirements and expectations.
- Working independently and taking responsibility for the successful delivery of Gateley RJA’s QS / PM services on all projects you and your team are working on.
- Taking responsibility for allocated Key Client Accounts, building a relationship with the Key Client(s), ensuring complete satisfaction with Gateley RJA services, and nurturing new work opportunities.
- Training and assisting others, including the preparation and presentation of in-house CPD events.
- Actively seeking new project opportunities for Gateley RJA and promoting the services of the practice and wider group every opportunity including attendance and involvement at appropriate networking and marketing events.
- Acting as Employer’s Agent on Design and Build projects and Contract Administrator on Traditional projects.
- Following the company Quality Environmental Management System in the delivery of all services.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and developing excellent time management strategies.
- Treating all clients to exceptional level of service.
- Undertaking a minimum of 20 hours Continuing Professional Development every year.

Person Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes- BScl in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related field.
- Ideally, a Chartered member of the RICS, or a commitment to achieve Chartered status within 2 years of starting at RJA.
- Extensive experience in running own projects quantity surveying and / or project management from a Consultancy background.
- Proficiency in measurement, ideally using CostX Measurement Software.
- Experience in running large, complex projects independently.
- Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience in managing a team, with strong line management skills.
- Skilled negotiator.
- Driving licence and own car. Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.
