Job Profile for Quantity Surveyor SW45835 Gloucester | Office & Site Based Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE  Company Car / Allowance  Benefits Bennett & Game are delighted to be working with a long-established and highly reputable regional contractor who are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Property Services Division, based from their Gloucester Head Office. With over 75 years of trading history and multiple specialist divisions, the company has built a strong reputation across the South West for delivering high-quality construction and refurbishment projects.

The Property Services Division is a profitable and specialist arm of the business, primarily delivering insurance loss repair and reinstatement works following fire, flood, escape of water, subsidence, lightning strike and building defect claims. Projects range from £10,000 to £1M, including negotiated schemes and measured term / schedule of rates contracts typically between £10,000 and £100,000. Clients include domestic properties, multi-occupancy residential, education, industrial and commercial buildings, with a significant proportion of repeat business built on long-standing relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with experience in general works or insured loss environments who enjoys working within a small, collaborative team and is seeking long-term stability within a well-established contractor. Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE Company car provided or car allowance discussed Pension scheme (following probation) Private healthcare cover (following probation) Life insurance Standard holiday entitlement plus Bank Holidays Long-term career opportunity within a financially stable, reputable contractor Quantity Surveyor Job Overview Building up and pricing negotiated projects from first principles including labour, plant and materials Measuring works on site and from drawings and calculating quantities Preparing and agreeing monthly valuations and final account forecasts Pricing and agreeing variations and final accounts Producing interim and final invoices Compiling estimates for smaller works up to £50,000 Obtaining and negotiating subcontract sums and placing subcontract orders Attending subcontractor pre-order meetings Checking and processing subcontractor payments and variations Producing internal cost and value comparisons and cash flow forecasts Issuing project correspondence and attending site and team meetings Providing commercial and contractual advice to Contracts Managers and Site Managers Working across insurance reinstatement projects including fire, flood, subsidence and defect-related works Quantity Surveyor

Job Requirements Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within general works, refurbishment or insurance reinstatement environments Understanding of schedules of rates and measured term contracts Ability to price projects from basics including labour, plant and materials Good knowledge of JCT Contracts and Subcontracts Strong understanding of construction technology, building regulations and health & safety Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams Ideally hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification Must reside within approximately one hour of Gloucester Head Office Seeking a long-term position within a stable contractor Bennett & Game Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
