Operations Manager
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Site Manager to join our team, overseeing a 1 year length project in Leicester, to start in mid‑March.
Must have recent experience in managing hotel or student accommodation refurbishments.
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the construction site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate trades, manage subcontractors, and liaise with contracts team, ensuring smooth project delivery from start to finish.
Key responsibilities:- You will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project by making sure that it meets or exceeds all objectives in terms of safety, quality, programme and budget.
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost‑effectiveness.
- Maintain effective communication and reporting with senior management, providing updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities in line with our internal company‑defined processes.
- Manage all site operations.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site labour.
- Monitor project progress, quality standards, and budget control.
- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain accurate site records.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, including clients, client project team, consultants and partners.
- Resolve any site issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensure all work is completed to specification and meets building regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid SMSTS certification.
- First Aid at Work (3 day course).
- PASMA
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in construction, with recent experience in hotel and student accommodation refurbishment, is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and building regulations.
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations and a track record of ensuring compliance on construction sites.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, to be able to build strong relationships and collaborate with all stakeholders.
- Ability to solve problems proactively by anticipating and resolving issues to ensure project success is deliverable.
- Experience with design and build projects is advantageous.
- Holder of a Full UK driving license.
