We are now recruiting for the position of Quantity Surveyor, which will be based at our Balbriggan office. The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, the person will be responsible for all aspects of commercial management activities on our projects. They will undertake commercial activities during the pre‑contract process through to commercial close‑out of each project and will be actively involved in delivering a positive attitude towards health, safety and environmental activities.
Key Capabilities- General
- Analysis of sub‑contract agreements with main contractors
- Ability to undertake commercial activities, develop budgets, measure, procure, and prepare sub‑contract agreements
- Preparation of commercial reports for external and internal reviews
- Broad understanding of different types of construction contracts
- Positive attitude and participation
- Data management and project reporting
- Comprehensive record keeping
- Competence in preparation and presentation of budgets
- Generation of detailed commercial reports for all aspects of the project
- On‑time delivery of all reporting (external and internal)
- Contract management
- Advise project management team on contractual matters
- Administer sub‑contract agreements with main contractors
- Undertake monthly interim valuations to main contractors
- Identify risks and opportunities within sub‑contracts
- Manage all contractual matters with supply chain
- Understand general contractual provisions such as bonds, guarantees, warranties, and insurances
- Understanding of the Construction Contract Act 2013
- Construction technology and quantification of construction works
- Read and interrogate 3D models, complex drawings and specifications
- Analyse costs, compare to budgets and issue reports swiftly
- Detailed understanding of different construction technologies used in the industry
- Accredited course by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the Chartered Institution of Engineers (IEI)
- Excellent communication skills
- Analytical thinker with demonstrated problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise and plan effectively within strict deadline environments
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating in a similar role
