Health and Safety Advisor

Overview

Health and Safety Advisor role at conAK. A well-established, family-run SME contractor delivering refurbishment and maintenance projects up to £3m across the public sector, specifically with NHS, emergency services, and universities. The role focuses on leading safety across projects, maintaining and improving current systems, driving compliance, and embedding a positive safety culture.

• Salary up to £45,000
• Mileage paid at 45p per mile
• 22 days holiday + bank holidays
• Stable, long-term role in a business with solid contracts and consistent work
• Flexible start times and supportive leadership
• Great autonomy – report directly to the Director
• Support from a HS Assistant and Health and Safety trained project teams

• Carrying out day-to-day health and safety across multiple projects (mainly across Leicestershire with occasional further travel)
• Writing and reviewing Construction Phase Plans and RAMS
• Carrying out site audits, toolbox talks, and inductions
• Investigating incidents and implementing improvements
• Maintaining accreditations (Safe Contractor, Construction Line)
• Being the go-to for all health and safety matters on site

• NEBOSH General (Construction Cert ideal)
• Previous experience in a construction or fit-out environment (desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
