Our client, a public sector organisation responsible for championing and protecting England’s historic environment, is seeking a Business Support Officer to join its regional team based in either Newcastle or York.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised professional to contribute to the delivery of grant-aid and advisory services while supporting operational and corporate targets. The role offers hybrid working and flexible arrangements, including job sharing, part-time hours, and compressed working patterns.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting service delivery, grant management, and stakeholder engagement within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative and operational support across local teams to ensure effective service delivery.
- Support the delivery of grant-aid programmes and advisory services, managing processes in line with financial and procurement procedures.
- Assist Development Advice and Partnerships teams in achieving group and corporate performance targets.
- Facilitate the efficient provision of statutory and non-statutory advice.
- Manage individual grants, including supporting negotiations and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
- Respond to internal and external information requests and briefing requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of business processes and service efficiency.
- Experience working with members of the public or external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting business processes.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent organisational and task management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
