Senior Recruitment Consultant | Connecting Top Professionals With Opportunities Within the Energy & Utilities industry

Role Summary

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and delivering innovative consultancy services in the utilities sector. This is a client-facing role requiring a proactive, target-driven individual with a strong commercial acumen and passion for sustainable business solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in targeted sectors (commercial, industrial, SME).
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects through networking, cold outreach, and referrals.
  • Understand client needs and deliver tailored consultancy proposals across energy, water, and telecoms.
  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals in line with company goals and client expectations.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to promote our services and expand brand visibility.
  • Provide regular performance reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably within the utilities or energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of utility markets, procurement processes, and cost-saving strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self‑motivated, target-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to build long‑term client relationships and manage multiple accounts effectively.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings.
