Overview

Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Cardiology, Respiratory & Vascular Department as part of the administrative team. The post-holder acts as the CRV Admin Team Leader, leading and directing the department and handling all correspondence and associated administrative duties. The post holder will support the assistant service manager in leading and directing a team of admin/support admin staff.

A polite, friendly manner with patients/relatives and visitors/staff (face to face or by telephone) is essential. The closing date is 02 March 2026.

Main duties

The post holder acts as the Cardio Respiratory Vascular (CRV) Administrative Team Leader, providing comprehensive administrative leadership and support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service. The role involves managing and supervising the administrative team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and ensuring adequate cover at all times.

  • Manage clinic and investigation diaries, coordinate appointments, monitor waiting lists, and maximise capacity to prevent breaches in line with Trust policies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for patients, relatives, consultants, GPs, and other departments; handle enquiries, complaints, and urgent requests professionally and compassionately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records across hospital systems; produce reports and audit data; implement new administrative procedures and systems.
  • Ensure information governance, confidentiality, infection control, and safeguarding compliance; work closely with the Assistant Service Manager and multidisciplinary teams to support safe, effective, and timely patient care.

• The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds.
• Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
• Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire.
