Distributor Driver

The Distributor Driver operates a distributor truck with a capacity of 3,000 gallons to transport emulsion to and from specified destinations, applying asphalt/tack on highway/roadways/parking lots/driveways. During the off‑season the Driver also drives a truck and pup, transfers, or belts trailers. This skilled position involves the safe and efficient operation of equipment and trucks, performed under the supervisor’s instruction.

• Operate asphalt distributor truck.
• Drive a truck and pup, transfer, or belt trailer during the off‑season.
• Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi‑automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
• Apply liquid from distributor to designated area with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship.
• Connect and disconnect pup trailer.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the proper tools and equipment for the task.
• Properly follow all company policies, FMCSA regulations, and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Attend according to company attendance policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency levels.
• Maintain a courteous and professional manner with co‑workers, customers, and the public.
• Have the physical ability to operate the distributor and perform manual labor as needed.
• May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Willing to perform or assist with other positions for job completion as needed.
• Adapt to last‑minute schedule changes, location changes, shift time changes; overtime work required.
• Adhere to PPE (personal protective equipment) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition as supplied by the company.
• Be able to adapt and work in extreme weather temperatures.
• Will be exposed to extremes of heat or cold weather.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must possess a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A with Tanker Endorsement.
• Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.

• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Incident‑free driving record preferred.
• May be subject to drug and alcohol, medical exams, and physical agility testing.
