What you’ll do
  • Work with product management to understand the business goals for each software release
  • Manage an outstanding team of software engineers delivering new functionality, updates, and maintenance releases
  • Continuously coordinate with web design, engineering operations/IT, DBAs and QA, engaging teams at the appropriate times
  • Anticipate project blockers and help form remediation plans (before the project and delivery timelines suffer)
  • Provide hands‑on help in architecting, designing, implementing, deploying and documenting software applications and services
  • Help establish quality methodologies, metrics, and standards to track and improve the engineering productivity
  • Mentor and recruit top talent for the engineering team.
  • Manage both onshore and offshore team members.
Who you are
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software development and 3+ years of management
  • History of successfully delivering continuous software releases using "Agile" development methodologies (such as Scrum)
  • Ability to delve into a technical problem and drive the solution personally, if the need arises
  • Working knowledge of common Web Technologies such as Java, Python, SQL and Springboot
  • Understanding of how AI is affecting the SDLC and how it applies to engineering teams. A solid understanding of the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its practical application within engineering teams.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise level architectural patterns (client-server, n-tier, etc.), Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Design Patterns, Database Centric Processing, and data warehousing - as they relate to scalability
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Master’s degree is a plus
