Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Bear Tracks Undercarriage is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to service and repair construction equipment throughout Utah County and the Wasatch Front. This position involves diagnosing and repairing equipment in the field including excavators, skid steers, compact track loaders, and other construction machinery.
We are a growing company with an expanding service department and an established customer base. Our office staff handles invoicing, scheduling, and parts sourcing so mechanics can focus on diagnosing and repairing equipment efficiently in the field

This is a great opportunity for a motivated mechanic who wants consistent work, strong pay, and the ability to grow into a lead mechanic or service manager role as the department expands.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in the field
- Perform hydraulic, electrical, engine, and undercarriage repairs
- Service excavators, skid steers, compact track loaders, and related equipment
- Identify worn components and recommend necessary repairs
- Communicate repair needs and timelines with customers
- Complete service tickets and job reports
- Maintain company service truck, tools, and equipment
- Follow safe work practices and maintain a professional appearance when interacting with customers
- 5+ years experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or diesel equipment preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience working on brands such as CAT, Deere, Kubota, Takeuchi, Bobcat, or similar equipment
- Ability to work independently and manage field repairs
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong work ethic and ability to communicate professionally with customers
