About the Role
Safe Streets is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about turning raw data into actionable insights and building reliable data pipelines that support business-critical decisions.
What You’ll Do- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and store data from multiple sources
- Develop and optimize data models in Snowflake that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Integrate data from Salesforce and other enterprise systems into centralized data platforms
- Support analytics and BI teams with performant, well-documented data assets
- Contribute to data governance, security, and compliance initiatives
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related data-focused roles
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database design
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar
- Proficiency in Python or another programming language for data processing
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
- Understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data quality
- Experience with Salesforce data extraction and integration
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
- Experience with streaming data platforms, particularly Kafka
- Experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda)
- Knowledge of data governance and data catalog tools
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows (Git Hub Actions preferred)
