Cloud Platform Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Cloud Platform Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in Lehi, UT.

• Work with multiple teams to design, deploy, and support large scale containerized workload platforms in multiple global private cloud datacenters and public cloud providers and regions
• Deliver highly secure and efficient solutions within comprehensive compliance regulations, including SOC2, ISO
  27001, HIPAA, PCI, etc.
• Integrate diverse technologies in multiple environments to provide monitoring, alerting, and reporting of performance and costs
• Support software development teams with onboarding and using container-based solutions at scale
• Work in an agile operations framework, balancing sprint-based work with daily operational needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve system outages or performance impact, and communicate findings for ongoing improvement
• Participate in an on-call rotation to handle escalated issues
• Work with third-party vendors to recommend solutions and drive performance and cost efficiency

• 2 plus years of experience managing environments inside of the Public Cloud, Azure and AWS preferred
• 3 plus years of experience with Linux, including large scale OS deployment and automation
• 3 plus years software engineering experience, including multiple development languages. Python, Go preferred
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes operations, including deployment strategies, upgrades, cluster security, troubleshooting, and cloud‑native networking, storage solutions, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
• Familiarity with software version control systems and release management, preferably Git.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git Ops practices for continuous deployment and infrastructure management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements relevant to cloud‑native infrastructure.
• Exposure to basic AI technologies and frameworks, such as using AI‑based monitoring tools or integrating machine learning models for predictive analytics within the infrastructure stack.
• Experience with both public and private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, VMWare) and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Analytical problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset to keep pace with evolving cloud and AI technologies.
• Passionate about designing and supporting complex IT systems while managing day‑to‑day infrastructure operations.
• Eager to learn, receptive to guidance, and able to recognize opportunities for further growth.
• Ability to work hard within a small, customer‑focused team and collaborate across cross‑functional groups of developers and operations.
• Effective time management ensuring commitments are communicated and met.
• Proven ability to turn design, compliance, and support references/content into documentation, presentations, and training materials.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
