The RoleAs Head of Payroll & Benefits
, you will own the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of payroll and benefits operations across a growing, multi-state organization. You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability while partnering closely with HR and Finance to support both our people and our long-term growth.
- Direct end-to-end payroll operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee multi-state payroll processing and state tax reporting requirements
- Maintain payroll systems, schedules, and data integrity
- Lead, mentor, and develop payroll team members
- Partner with HR and Finance leadership on payroll and benefits strategy
- Manage employee benefits administration, including self-funded plans
- Coordinate with payroll vendors, benefits partners, and internal/external auditors
- Produce and analyze payroll and benefits reports for executive leadership
- Oversee complex payroll components such as commissions, bonuses, and incentive pay
- Extensive experience managing multi-state payroll operations
- Background supporting organizations with 500+ employees
- Demonstrated leadership of payroll teams and processes
- Strong working knowledge of payroll compliance and state tax regulations
- Experience administering employee benefits programs
- Proven ability to manage commissions and bonus structures
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills
