Special Event Specialist - Part Time

SPECIAL EVENT SPECIALIST - PART TIME

CLOSING DATE: January 27, 2026

PAY RATE: $20.00-$28.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications with starting wage not typically above the midpoint of the range ($24.00).

SCHEDULE: Variable hours to accommodate special event needs. Up to 25 hours week, with the exception of some Summer events where more hours may be required.

DEPARTMENT: Office of the City Administrator

• Perform light office work
• Assist the Special Events Manager with day-to-day operations
• Assist in setup, operation and teardown of events
• Interact with event attendees in a friendly, engaging manner
• Assist in identifying sponsor ships for events and programs
• Assist in creating new events
• Serves as vendor liaison and coordinator
• Works closely with parks maintenance to ensure cooperation for events.
• Coordinates promotion of activities and recruitment of participants for volunteer efforts and department-wide ventures
• Assists with the scheduling and coordination of community spaces
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma and six (6) months experience in event planning
• Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
• Familiar with multiple social media platforms
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation - personal vehicle preferred
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
