We are partnering with an established and successful professional services firm to hire an Accounting Operations Lead. This role is intentionally designed for an accounting professional who wants real ownership, hands‑on technical work, and the opportunity to grow alongside a business that is scaling thoughtfully.

The role is intentionally designed to evolve, with hands‑on accounting responsibility and shared ownership. The Accounting Operations Lead works closely with firm leadership and a small internal delivery team, sharing execution responsibility while serving as a technical accounting resource across multiple client engagements.
As the firm grows, this role grows with it.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of client engagements
• Participate in client discussions related to close timelines, deliverables, and accounting considerations
• Build trusted client relationships through clear communication and consistent follow‑through

• Actively participate in month‑end close activities across multiple clients
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Step in on higher‑level or complex accounting matters as needed
• Ensure work is accurate, timely, and audit‑ready

• Work alongside another accounting professional to execute client deliverables
• Provide guidance, review, and support to promote consistency and quality
• Help balance workloads and prioritize close activities during peak periods

• Contribute to improving and standardizing close processes
• Help transition work from ad hoc spreadsheets into more scalable systems
• Support documentation of workflows as the firm matures

• Support onboarding of new client engagements
• Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as the firm grows

• Big 4 public accounting experience (audit or advisory; non‑tax)
• CPA licensed or actively pursuing CPA
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and month‑end close
• Comfort performing and reviewing hands‑on accounting work
• Experience operating in a client‑facing environment
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

• Three or more years of progressive accounting experience (strong candidates with slightly less experience will be considered)
• Exposure to industry accounting, controller support, or close ownership
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
• Interest in building processes and growing with a firm
