Overview
Description The Pickleball Professional (Pro) provides excellent coaching and instructional services to members of all ages and skill levels. This role is responsible for designing and implementing effective coaching programs, conducting individual and group lessons, organizing tournaments and events, and fostering a positive supportive learning environment. The Pro ensures every member enjoys a high quality experience that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities- Teaching and Mentoring:
Deliver elite-level pickleball instruction and personalized coaching experiences that align with Village Pickle standards, member goals, and performance expectations. - Goal Oriented:
Drive program revenue by proactively promoting private lessons, clinics, leagues, and other events. - Program Development and Coaching Design:
Design and execute high-end pickleball programs, events, and tournaments that enhance member engagement and retention. - Relationship Building:
Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with members by providing exceptional service, proactive communication, and a concierge-style experience. - Cross-Functional Collaboration & Marketing:
Act as a brand ambassador for Village Pickle, upholding service excellence standards while identifying opportunities to grow participation and elevate the pickleball program.
- Deliver high-quality private, semi-private, and group pickleball instruction to members of all ages and skill levels.
- Design and implement customized coaching plans aligned with individual member goals, skill development, and performance expectations.
- Ensure all instructional activities reflect Village Pickle’s standards for safety, professionalism, and service excellence.
- Maintain courts, equipment, and instructional areas to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
- Enforce all safety guidelines, policies, and industry best practices during lessons, clinics, and events.
- Proactively identify and report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to appropriate departments.
- Work closely with management, staff, and membership teams to enhance member engagement, participation, and program growth.
- Maintain accurate records for lessons, attendance, and revenue.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to remain current with pickleball trends, techniques, and coaching best practices.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required.
- PPR and/or USPTA Pickleball instructor certification, or evident progress towards certification is required within 60 days of hire.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification, or evident progress towards completion is required within 30 days of hire.
- Tennis pro certification such as USPTA and/or PTR preferred.
- 2+ years of pickleball experience
- 2+ years of sports instructional experience
- Exposed to weather conditions such as rain, hot, and cold temperatures.
- Exposed to moderate to loud noises when working outside or inside.
- Able to make repetitive motions frequently throughout the workday
- Able to sit, stand, and walk frequently throughout the workday
- Able to use your hands to handle, reach, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Able to lift 25lbs with or without assistance
