Job SummaryThe Spray Technician applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to maintain and enhance the health and appearance of the golf course. The role involves operating and maintaining spraying equipment, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with various groundskeeping activities while adhering to safety protocols and contributing to course upkeep.
Reporting Structure- Reports to the Equipment Manager
- Apply chemicals accurately and keep application records.
- Operate powered equipment for mowing and hauling materials.
- Perform daily equipment checklists and maintain equipment clean and functional.
- Grade, prepare soil, plant vegetative material, and seed putting greens, tees, and fairways.
- Assist in construction of new greens, tees, and fairways by grading, preparing soil, and planting.
- Maintain ball washers, water coolers, bunker cleanings, and trim trees, prune shrubbery, and cultivate shrubs.
- Keep all areas on the golf course free of debris and maintain a clean course free of trash.
- Assist others and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence.
- Follow safe working practices and encourage others to do the same.
- Take initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain required certifications.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources and collaborate with regional and corporate teams.
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in outdoor maintenance or a related field.
- Technical knowledge of spraying equipment and proficiency in maintenance, repair, and upkeep.
- Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, squatting/kneeling, reach, grasp, push/pull, twist/bend, lift/carry up to 100 lbs., talk, hear, and see.
- Construction tools (shovels, axes, sledgehammers, etc.)
- Gardening tools (pruners, rakes, hedge shears, trimmers, etc.)
- Blowers
- Grass mowers
- Tractors
- Attendance requirements as outlined on the weekly schedule.
- Additional hours required to meet position deadlines, including weekends and/or holidays.
