Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Secretary to provide administrative and clerical support to our attorneys and legal staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence
- File legal documents with state and federal courts (electronically and in person)
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate court dates and deadlines
- Answer phones, greet clients, and handle general administrative duties
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic filing systems
- Assist with time entry and billing processes
- Communicate with clients, courts, and other attorneys in a professional manner
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a legal secretary or legal administrative assistant (or alternatively, a strong desire to learn)
- Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document formatting is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
