The Network Engineer provides day‑to‑day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment. Maintains passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Network Engineer will provide technical support for all network operations, including design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of the organization’s network environment. This individual will work closely with global IT teams, Cybersecurity, and Business Applications to deliver a secure, resilient, and modern digital workplace aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. You’ll contribute to ensuring reliable connectivity, safeguarding data, and enabling seamless communication between systems and users while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the network function.
What You’ll Do:- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, and cloud‑based network environments
- Proactively monitor network performance, availability, and security events to ensure optimal uptime
- Perform root cause analysis and lead hands‑on resolution of complex network incidents and outages
- Lead by example through active participation in incident response, escalation management, and service restoration
- Plan and implement network changes, upgrades, and capacity planning initiatives to support business growth
- Administer and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
- Develop, maintain, and enforce network documentation, standards, diagrams, and operational procedures
- Communicate highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel and collaborate closely with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to implement and maintain security controls and best practices
- Manage network vendors, service providers, contracts, and escalations to ensure service quality
- Participate in on‑call rotations and oversee after‑hours maintenance activities as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required. Substitutable experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive IT experience within network operations or service delivery management roles
- Proven experience in enterprise network administration or network management
- Strong working knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
- Expertise in Cisco, Infoblox, and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Hands‑on experience with network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and related infrastructure
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in complex enterprise network environments
- Experience using network monitoring, performance, and diagnostic tools
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical capabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Occasional travel to company sites and vendor locations may be required.

Compensation:Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with qualifications and performance taken into account.
VB Spine reserves the right to offer compensation outside of this listed range. Final compensation is determined on a case‑by‑case basis and considers a variety of factors, including experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
