Registered Nurse; RN Acute Care Float Pool

Overview

Inova Loudon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Acute Care Float Pool to join the team. This role will be full-time night shift: 7PM – 7:30AM.

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end-of-life decisions.
• Advocates for patients’ rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and assists the healthcare team with documentation.
• Evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomes.
• Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members.
• Demonstrates ongoing professional development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintaining own Team Member Continuing Education Record.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. If RNs have an Associate’s Degree within 2 years of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and complete the following: identify the school, provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion, submit a transcript review indicating prerequisites and timeline, and complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Licensure:
  Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN license.
• Experience:
  
  2+ years of acute care RN experience.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS for Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) & NIHSS.
