North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is currently hiring for a Part-time Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services team!
OverviewOn a daily basis, the Housekeeper follows set routines to create and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff and visitors. The Housekeeper shall provide cleaning services in assigned areas to maintain an orderly, aseptic physical environment.
ScheduleMonday – Friday from 5 pm to 9 pm with 4 hour days
Responsibilities- Clean patient rooms, common lounge areas, nursing stations, service areas and offices according to schedule and established procedures which attend to furniture, floors, light fixtures, vents, glass doors, etc.
- Clean restrooms and patient’s rooms using the appropriate germicidal solutions.
- Maintain orderly, clean and stocked custodial closets and cleaning carts, assuring that doors are kept locked from resident access. The Housekeeper shall provide Support Services to maintain environmental systems which assist facility in efficient functioning.
- Pull soiled linen and distribute clean linen to patient care areas ensuring par levels are maintained.
- Empty trashcan and periodically clean when soiled.
- Restock soap and dispensable paper supply dispensers.
- Provides cleaning supplies to units as indicated ensuring proper labeling and storage at all times.
- Ensure efficiency in handling patients discharge, terminal cleaning, and preparing resident room for occupancy.
- Report to supervisor the need for special cleaning or repair furniture.
- Consistently practice within department universal precaution procedures, wearing gloves when handling soiled linen.
- Is familiar with cleaning chemical used; uses protective equipment as indicated.
- Safely operates equipment such as vacuums and utility carts in a safe manner.
- The Housekeeper checks posted schedule and is present for all shifts on time in proper uniform.
Education: High school education or equivalent is preferred. Must be able to read and write in English.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet the basic health requirements of hospital without restrictions. Must possess physical stamina to stand the majority of shift and to lift and move equipment and supplies. Physical demands require dexterity, good vision, and ability to walk, stoop, and bend. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Experience: Previous residential experience is desirable. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment with aptitude for attention to detail.
