Overview

The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a Therapist to participate in the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. You will work with a trusted team that provides person-centered, recovery-oriented services and supports to individuals and families in Loudoun County.

ACT is an evidence-based model that supports adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses or co-occurring substance use disorders by delivering treatment interventions in non-clinic-based settings throughout the county. This role provides ongoing care to individuals who may experience homelessness, hospitalizations, or incarcerations, in a person-centered, patient-driven manner.

Responsibilities
  • Crisis intervention, assessment, treatment planning, care management, individual and group therapy, and coordination of treatment services.
  • Complies with federal, state and agency policies and procedures.
  • Functions as a member of a busy, mobile clinical team, applying advanced clinical skills.
  • Will be required to transport individuals in program vehicles.
  • Schedule includes days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. This position has On-Call rotation responsibilities and is eligible for Emergency Overtime and On-Call pay, and is eligible for a $6,000 hiring bonus under the County’s Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
Qualifications
  • Master s degree; license eligible within one year of hire or possess licensure through the Virginia Department of Health Professions Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW);
    Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC);
    Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP).
  • Two years of professional experience working with individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis (may include internship experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Must be able to wear N-95 mask and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face shield, mask, apron, gown, gloves, etc.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background checks to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test.
  • Must have a good driving record and a valid driver s license in Virginia or a regional state of residence.
