Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehab

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking to add an Exercise Physiologist to our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab team. • Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidity and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review.
• Reviews Individual Treatment Plans.
• Develops exercise and strength training programs, patient education and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes for each patient.
• Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation.
• Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation.
• Supports additional projects and duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or Kinesiology.
• BLS within 6 months of start date. Must be from the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.
• American College of Sports Medicine - Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM CEP) required upon start for Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab Programs. Or Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (AACVPR CCRP)
• Patient focused approach to patient well-being and recovery.
• Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative innovative environment.

• Experience as an Excise Physiologist in a Hospital Setting
• Internship experience in a Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab setting
