At Southern Electric, we believe smooth projects start with strong coordination. That’s where you come in. We’re hiring a Permits Coordinator to help keep our electrical jobs on track by handling the permitting and inspection process with care, accuracy, and follow-through.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organized, working with both people and paperwork, and playing a key part in helping teams succeed.
What You Can ExpectHourly Pay: $18–$23, based on experience
Schedule:
Full-time, consistent weekday hoursOvertime available as needed

Prepare and submit permit applications for electrical projects
Communicate with cities, counties, and utility companies to schedule inspections
Keep records organized and up to date
Share permit statuses and inspection results with our internal teams
Stay informed on permitting rules across different areas
Handle corrections or re-submissions promptly
Help make sure project deadlines are met by staying ahead of permitting needs

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with permits, construction, or admin work is helpful—but not required
Willing to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
Organized, reliable, and comfortable handling multiple tasks
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Bonus if you’ve worked in electrical, construction, or permitting before
