Starting Salary: $21.64/hour

The Community Programs Support Specialist provides administrative, logistical, and outreach support for UWLS community impact initiatives. This role supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of programs serving veterans, families, and community partners, ensuring programs are well-organized, accessible, and responsive to community needs. The position works closely with Community Impact staff and external partners to support participant engagement, maintain accurate program records, and contribute to effective program operations.

• Support the coordination and delivery of community-based programs, workshops, and outreach activities.
• Assist with program logistics including scheduling, materials preparation, venue coordination, and on-site support.
• Help develop and distribute program agendas, handouts, resource guides, and promotional materials.
• Support community outreach efforts through email communications, flyers, newsletters, and program updates.
• Serve as a point of contact for program inquiries and participant support under staff guidance.
• Maintain program calendars, registration lists, contact databases, and participant records.
• Track program participation, assist with expense tracking, and support basic program budget monitoring.
• Assist in collecting participant feedback and compiling data for program evaluation and reporting.
• Build positive relationships with participants, volunteers, and community partners to support engagement and retention.
• Collaborate with Community Impact staff to support multiple initiatives and evolving program needs.

• Education:
  
  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Skills:
  
  Strong documentation, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
• Licenses/Transportation:
  Valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to conduct fieldwork.

• Experience supporting community programs, workshops, or nonprofit initiatives.
• Experience with community outreach, participant engagement, or volunteer coordination.
• Familiarity with veterans’ services or social service programs a plus.

• Primarily office-based with regular community-based work throughout Lake and Sumter Counties.
