The hospital also offers world-class orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery, life-saving emergency care, stroke treatment, labor & delivery, and so much more.

Responsibilities

The UF Health Central Florida Care Navi Gator will be stationed in the emergency department and work in collaboration with the UF Health Medical Group team, emergency department team, provider staff, and others as needed. They will play an integral patient-support role by helping navigate and guide next steps for patients being discharged by coordinating appointments and follow-up care, as well as providing information and referrals to healthcare providers and any needed community resources.

Care Navi Gators will have a customer service-oriented and patient-centric attitude, and must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain patient confidentiality, and the computer skill-set to document patient interactions and care coordination activities accurately and in a timely manner. Candidates will work with a diverse population of patients and families, and will need to maintain a high level of empathy and compassion with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.

Qualifications
Education:
  • High School or GED equivalent required
  • College degree (preferred)
Licensure/Certification/Registration:

N/A

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years customer-facing and/or clinical experience in a hospital or physician's office
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, health care patient records/scheduling/billing/order systems, and/or an electronic health record system (preferred)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English;
    Bilingual preferred
