Food and food‑service delivery. Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at the right time and in good condition, and they are the face of the company — building lasting relationships with customers.
Primary Responsibilities- Move tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and park loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly.
- Act as a team member within the department and organization and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
- Perform inspections and move trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving policies.
- Fuel, move, and park tractors and trailers at the docks.
- Transport tractor trailers to off‑site maintenance and/or inspection facilities; this requires local city driving.
- Secure trucks, trailers, and equipment at all times.
- Complete all required documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of driving experience. Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months of experience with good performance records as per the driver training program.
- Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean motor‑vehicle report for the past 3 years.
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Able to hand‑lift and use a two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift; product generally ranges from 10 to 35 pounds, up to 60–90 pounds depending on location.
- One (1) year of tractor‑trailer experience.
- Food‑service distribution industry experience.
- Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (e.g., People Net).
