Role and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate shop activities including material preparation, equipment staging, maintenance, fabrication, and repairs.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met for all shop-prepared materials and equipment.
  • Assist in planning daily workloads, assigning tasks, and adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory, and equipment inspections.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of project materials.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Identify needs for tools, materials, and supplies; communicate shortages to management.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the shop and yard areas.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement efforts related to productivity, efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in an industrial services shop environment.
  • Strong understanding of materials, equipment, and tools used in refractory, welding services.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and inventory management.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing in shop and yard environments.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or dusty environments as required by shop and project activities.
  • Capable of wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, and steel-toe boots.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment (training provided).
  • The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
