Data Governance Manager

The Data Governance Analyst (Contractor) will provide hands‑on support for the design, implementation, and adoption of the Atlan data catalog. This role is delivery‑focused and execution‑oriented, supporting defined governance outcomes over a fixed engagement period. The contractor will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and technical resources to curate metadata, support governance processes, and help operationalize catalog usage.

This role is not intended to define long‑term strategy, but rather to execute agreed‑upon governance standards, processes, and implementation plans.

• Atlan Platform & Metadata Management: Support catalog implementation, curate glossary terms, technical metadata, ownership assignments, tags/classifications, and validate lineage.
• Business Glossary & Standards: Maintain glossary, align business terms to technical assets, and support review workflows.
• Governance Process Enablement: Execute governance processes, onboard domains, document procedures, and track activities.
• Data Governance & Domain Enablement: Partner with owners/stewards, define domain models, and support stewardship workflows.
• RBAC & Access Support: Assist with role‑based access control, validate permissions, and support audits.

• Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–7 years in data governance, metadata management, analytics/data platform support.
• Experience with data catalogs (Atlan preferred; Collibra, Alation acceptable).
• Strong understanding of metadata, data domains, governance concepts, and stakeholder engagement.

• Familiarity with Snowflake or cloud data platforms.
• BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Knowledge of data quality, privacy, compliance frameworks.

• Metadata curation, glossary development, stakeholder facilitation.
• Analytical thinking, process documentation, governance operations.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
