Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Police Officer, located in Belton, MO. The Police Officer will be responsible for maintaining peace and public order, responding promptly to emergency calls, enforcing local, state, and federal laws, and conducting routine patrols. Additional responsibilities include investigating crimes, gathering evidence, preparing detailed reports, and providing assistance to the general public. Officers will engage with the community to cultivate trust and foster healthy public relations through effective communication and outreach.
Qualifications- A strong understanding of criminal law, public safety, and community policing principles
- Effective communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse community
- Observation, problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills required for law enforcement
- Physical endurance, fitness, and the ability to meet physical performance requirements
- High ethical standards, leadership skills, and the ability to handle stressful and high-pressure situations
- A high school diploma or GED; post-secondary education in criminal justice or related field is a plus
- Completion of approved law enforcement academy training and certification, or willingness to obtain certification as required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
