Port Operative

Elite Consult are recruiting a Port Operative / Stevedore on behalf of our client based in Leeds.

Our client is an inland barge operator, transporting cargo via the UK's inland waterways semantic and sustainable freight movement.

A stevedore is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo from vessels. This role involves the physical movement of goods between the vessel and the quayside, ensuring pals run smoothly and safely.

• Loading and unloading construction materials
• Operating plant and machinery, including forklifts, cranes, and reach stackers
• Securing cargo safely in the vessel's hold or on the quayside
• Working as part of a team to ensure efficient vessel turnaround
• Adhering to strict health and safety procedures at all times

• Valid site safety passport (EMSS or CCNSG) or CSCS Card
• Class 1 Counterbalance Forklift Licence

• Slinger / Banksman certification
• NPORS N202TJ
  - Excavator 360°
• NPORS N722WC
  - Material Re-Handler 360°
• NPORS N209W - Loading Shovel (Wheeled)
• NPORS N103 - Crawler Crane
