You’ll build and enhance APIs, data integrations, and service components within a modern microservices environment, working under the technical guidance of senior onshore engineers.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone who writes clean, reliable code and thrives in a fast-paced Agile team.

Key technologies:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of REST API design, request/response handling, and error management
  • Experience working with microservices architectures
  • Practical experience deploying or running services on GCP or another major cloud platform
  • Familiarity with managed databases (e.g., Cloud SQL, Postgre

    SQL)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs aligned to existing architectural standards.
  • Implement business logic, data access layers, and integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Build and refine RESTful APIs, ensuring compliance with established contracts and best practices.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
  • Contribute to unit and integration test coverage for stability and regression protection.
  • Deliver backend components from defined designs, requirements, and tickets.
  • Participate in code reviews, responding to feedback and improving overall code quality.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot backend issues using logs and diagnostics, escalating complex design issues when required.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum team, contributing to sprint planning, estimates, and delivery.
  • Follow established guidelines for security, performance, and reliability.

This is a hybrid role, 2-3 days per week on site in Leeds.
