Overview
Do you want to positively impact the student experience of those living within Leeds Beckett residences? Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging role?
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Leeds Beckett Residence Life team. Our Residence Life team provides welfare support, oversees conduct, delivers engagement activities, and helps contribute to a positive student experience.
The role involves substantial contact with students across a multi-site portfolio, supporting their transition to university life and independent living. Reporting to the Residence Life Coordinator, you will undertake welfare responsibilities, advise and support students when issues arise, and be a first point of contact for residents. You will case manage disciplinary related incidents, including interviewing, investigating, and completing formal incident reports to ensure safety and acceptable conduct of residents.
You will also build relationships with key stakeholders within the University and third-party accommodation providers to assist in the safety and security of residences. Working closely with colleagues within the Residence Life team, you will contribute to the delivery of a student engagement programme to further enhance the resident experience.
Ideally, you should have a broad understanding of student issues, prior experience of working in a higher education environment or with young people, and a passion for student life. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proactive and positive approach to problem solving, the ability to work creatively and independently, as well as part of a team.
